Wedding Recap

So here’s the promised entry: I arrived in Key West on Friday, ate dinner and partied at Don’s place with the wedding group. Cid was so excited; Jerome was too but he was playing it cool.

Got in some beach time on Saturday, ate great Cuban food at El SomethingOrOther, then went to the ceremony at the docks. It was short and sweet; in minutes the knot was tied. Then we jogged down to some hotel for the reception. Catering was a great choice: hamburgers! It fit with the whole cheeseburgers in paradise wedding theme. The Ferraras and Jenkinses and Jenkins-turned-Ferrara then proceeded to wow us all with their karaoke, um, unabashedness. At the table, I juggled limes and a kid said he thought maybe I was a clown. Then it was off to the bars for the after party. Sameer, myself, and Jerome’s cousins kept it going at Irish Kevin’s until 4 AM. There were lots of, um, uninhibited girls there too.

Sunday brought more beach time. Then we went out to dinner and ate some pasta flavored pepper. No one really wanted to stay out late so we watched whatever game of the world series it was and called it a night.

By Monday everyone else had left, so I walked around the island most of the day. I had planned on just people watching at the bars for the rest of the night, but as it happened I met a cute latin girl right off the bat and went dancing with her and her girlfriends. She was the only one in her group who spoke English so I got to practice my Espanol with the others: “Tres cervezas y uno agua?” I am a regular Peggy Hill.

On Tuesday I came home.

So to sum up I had a really good time. Congratulations Cid and Jerome! I’m really glad you let us share in the moment; may you have limitless happiness in your life together.

  1. you are a clown

Well done. Glad you had a good time. I saw my cousins on Sunday and they tried to take me to Irish Kevin’s as well. I was a little beat, and still had other guest to attend to, so I did not make it, but they were pumped to get there.

I ate at Papa’s for breakfast. Alone as well, either on Thurs or Fri, not sure when. Food was good, but was not the best on the island. some guy gave me his cell number and asked me to call him if I was scared on the island all by myself… so I did. and wait… no I didn’t.

I did have a good seat for people watching… saw a guy fall off his bike and hit the street pretty good. It was like 9:30 and this guy was wasted! Everyone saw it and he was soo loud, but no one else but me had the nerve to laugh at him… that or they had a conscience.

oh well. Glad you had a good time…

PS. it was the jenkins family that cant sing… Ferrara’s are know for carring a tune… into very bad places.
